Pilgrim Paths is pleased to announce the release of version 4.04 of the Pilgrim Paths Navigo app, bringing important improvements to navigation, route clarity, and pilgrimage planning. The update is now available for both iPhone and Android devices.
Pilgrim Paths Navigo is designed specifically for pilgrims walking Europe’s historic routes. The app provides reliable GPS navigation, route maps, lodging information, and offline functionality so walkers can confidently follow the path day by day.
The newest version improves several core features used by pilgrims in the field.
Main Path and Variants in a Single Route
Pilgrims can now view main routes and official variants together within a single route track. This simplifies navigation and makes it easier to understand optional alternatives without switching between files.
Improved Navigation Orientation
Version 4.04 introduces improved North-Up and Route-Up navigation modes, giving users clearer orientation while walking. Whether you prefer traditional map orientation or forward-facing navigation, the map display is now more intuitive.
Jitter-Free GPS Route Tracking
The GPS engine has been refined to deliver smoother and more accurate route tracking, reducing the small location “jumps” that sometimes occur in smartphone GPS. The main route is now highlighted more clearly on the map for quick visual confirmation that you are on the correct path.
Lodging Distance Calculation
A new feature allows pilgrims to view lodging distances in list format, making it easier to judge daily stages and choose accommodations based on how far they are along the route.
Performance Improvements
The update also includes general performance improvements and minor bug fixes to ensure smoother operation across devices.
Pilgrim Paths Navigo continues to evolve as a practical navigation tool for long-distance walkers on routes such as the Via Francigena, Camino de Santiago, and other historic pilgrimage trails.
