Cammino del Salento: Walking Puglia's Spectacular Adriatic Coast

Discover the sun-drenched landscapes, turquoise waters, and rich cultural heritage of southern Puglia on this unforgettable seven-day pilgrimage along the Cammino del Salento. Following the spectacular Via del Mare, we'll walk from the Baroque city of Lecce to Santa Maria di Leuca, where the Adriatic and Ionian seas meet at the southern tip of Italy's heel.

Our journey begins among Lecce's ornate churches and golden limestone architecture before turning toward the coast. Over five memorable walking stages, we'll discover fishing villages, ancient watchtowers, secluded coves, and dramatic limestone cliffs overlooking the Adriatic.

Along the way, we'll explore the historic port of Otranto, pass the lighthouse at Punta Palascìa, Italy's easternmost point, and discover the coastal beauty of Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro, and Marina Serra. The route combines seaside paths, olive groves, pine forests, and traditional villages where the rhythms of southern Italian life remain wonderfully apparent.

Our pilgrimage culminates at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae, a centuries-old destination overlooking the sea at Santa Maria di Leuca.

With welcoming accommodations, delicious regional cuisine, opportunities for swimming, and the companionship of a small group, this journey offers an ideal combination of coastal adventure, cultural discovery, and the reflective pleasures of walking together.
