Overview
Ireland's Celtic Caminos: Sacred Paths from Dublin to Croagh Patrick
Discover the ancient pilgrimage traditions of Ireland on this extraordinary thirteen-day journey through the island's sacred landscapes, Celtic heritage, and early Christian history. From the Irish Sea to the mountains of County Mayo, we'll follow historic pilgrim paths, explore remarkable archaeological sites, and experience the enduring spiritual traditions of the Emerald Isle.
Our adventure begins in Dublin, where we'll explore the city's rich history before setting out along the Bray Coastal Camino, with sweeping views of the Irish Sea. Turning north, we'll discover the Boyne Valley, home to the prehistoric passage tomb of Newgrange, older than Stonehenge, and walk the Boyne Valley Camino through a landscape steeped in ancient history.
In the Wicklow Mountains, we'll follow St. Kevin's Way toward Glendalough, one of Ireland's most celebrated early Christian monastic settlements. Here, wooded valleys, mountain passes, and medieval ruins recall the life of the sixth-century saint who sought solitude in this beautiful wilderness.
Our pilgrimage then continues west to County Mayo, where we'll walk the Tóchar Phádraig, an ancient pilgrimage route connecting Ballintubber Abbey with the sacred mountain of Croagh Patrick. Our journey culminates with an ascent of the mountain traditionally associated with St. Patrick's forty-day fast.
Along the way, we'll discover Ireland's extraordinary combination of Celtic mythology, Christian spirituality, traditional music, welcoming villages, and breathtaking scenery. With knowledgeable local guides, comfortable accommodations, and the fellowship of a small group, this is a pilgrimage of discovery, reflection, and connection with Ireland's living spiritual heritage.
